	History	Kindred spirits We have recently found some old photographs of other winter bathers, apparently of Greek descent. Gust Talaganis, Theodore and Tom Chekouras braved the frigid ankle deep waters of the Mahoning River in Youngstown, Ohio during the winters from 1909 to 1914. Far from the optimal conditions of Coney Island, they knew the best way to enjoy winter.
